Driver pressing the engine start button on a car with launch control enabled

Launch Control

LAUNCH · GRIP · GO

Launch control sets the engine to an optimal, consistent RPM when you’re stationary, so you can pull away hard with the best possible traction. I can enable or calibrate launch control through a software change — a track-focused feature for getting clean, repeatable standing starts.

What it does

Launch control holds the engine at a pre-set RPM as you prepare to launch, then delivers a controlled getaway that manages wheelspin for the quickest, most consistent standing start. It’s the feature you see used on the line at a track day or drag strip.

Good to know

Availability varies by car

Not every vehicle supports launch control, and the way it’s implemented differs between models. I’ll confirm whether yours is a candidate before any work.

It’s a track tool

Launch control is designed for controlled, off-public-road environments like a track or strip. Hard launches put extra load on the clutch, drivetrain and tyres, so it’s best used where it’s meant to be used.

How I work

Launch control is set up fully mobile across Bridgend, Cardiff, Swansea and the M4 corridor. Your original ECU file is always read and saved first, so it can be returned to standard at any time.

I’ll always be straight about whether your car is a good candidate and how the feature is best used — rather than fitting something that isn’t suited to your vehicle.
