DPF, EGR & AdBlue Solutions
DIAGNOSE · ADVISE · RESOLVE
Emissions-system faults — blocked DPFs, sticking EGR valves, AdBlue warnings — can leave a diesel in limp mode or refusing to start. I offer software solutions for these systems on a fully mobile basis, strictly for off-road, motorsport or export vehicles. Read the legal notice below before enquiring.
Important legal notice — please read
In the UK, Europe and most other countries it is illegal to use a vehicle on public roads if its factory emissions-control equipment has been removed, disabled or bypassed. Doing so will cause an automatic MOT failure and can invalidate your insurance.
For that reason, all DPF, EGR and AdBlue software work I carry out is supplied strictly for off-road use, motorsport applications or vehicles being exported. If you’re unsure whether your vehicle qualifies, please ask before booking.
What these systems do
Modern diesels run three main emissions systems. When they fail, they can be expensive to repair and can leave the car undriveable. Here’s what each one does and the software solution available for off-road or export vehicles:
DPF — Diesel Particulate Filter
The DPF traps soot from the exhaust and periodically burns it off in a cleaning cycle called a regeneration. When it blocks up it can trigger limp mode and a flashing glow-plug light. The software solution stops the regeneration cycles and the sensor monitoring tied to the filter.
EGR — Exhaust Gas Recirculation
The EGR valve feeds some exhaust gas back into the engine to lower combustion temperatures and NOx. Over time it causes carbon build-up in the intake, leading to rough running and hesitation. The software solution keeps the valve closed so the engine draws only fresh air.
AdBlue — Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR)
The SCR system injects AdBlue fluid into the exhaust to convert NOx into nitrogen and water. Sensor faults and pump or tank failures can trigger countdown “no-start” warnings. The software solution simulates a fully working system so those faults no longer strand the vehicle.

SYSTEM
PRIMARY FUNCTION
COMMON SYMPTOMS
SOFTWARE SOLUTION
DPF
Traps soot particles from the exhaust
Blocked filter, limp mode, flashing glow-plug light
Stops regeneration cycles and related sensor monitoring
EGR
Recycles exhaust gas to lower NOx
Rough idle, carbon build-up, hesitation
Keeps the valve closed so only fresh air is drawn in
AdBlue
Neutralises exhaust NOx with urea fluid
Countdown no-start alerts, pump or tank failure
Simulates active operation and stops fluid injection
How I work
All emissions software work is carried out fully mobile across Bridgend, Cardiff, Swansea and the M4 corridor. Your original ECU file is always read and saved first, so the vehicle can be returned to standard at any time.
I’ll always be straight with you about what’s involved and the legal position. These solutions are supplied strictly for off-road, motorsport or export use — if your vehicle doesn’t fall into one of those categories, I’ll tell you rather than carry out work that would make it illegal to drive on the road.
